I Sonic Youth hanno deciso di pubblicare un best, ma anziché scegliere loro i brani da inserire hanno deciso di farli scegliere ad altri musicisti, tra cui i Radiohead.
Assieme alla band di Oxford, come selezionatori, anche altri nomi illustri come Eddie Vedder dei Pearl Jam, Flea, i Flaming Lips e Beck.
